  3.                         IN SEARCH OF THE MESSIAH

  5.  We  now want to utilize the side of the brain not used very often,  or so it
  6.  seems,  nowadays.  I want you to use  your imaginan order to produce a
  7.  report as to the Nature  of
  8.  the Messiah as fortold in the Scriptures.
  9.  
  10.  Now,  I will take the role of the chief advisor,  but it is important to
  11.  note that King Herod is of the nature that, if we don't produce what he
  12.  wants, we may very well be fired -in OIL!
  13.  
  14.            Let's tackle the origin of the Messiah:

  16.  GENESIS  3:15         "Seed of Woman"
  17.  GENESIS 22:18         "Seed of Abraham"
  18.  DANIEL   7:13         "Son of Man"
  19.  ISAIAH   7:14         "Virgin Birth"
  20.  ISAIAH   9:6          "GOD HIMSELF [Father of Eternity]"

  22.  PSALM  110:11         "Son of DAVID - Yet David's LORD"

  24.                 That's getting too confusing

  26.                  lets tackle the BIRTHPLACE

  28.  MICAH    5:2       "Out of thee (Bethlehem"
  29.  HOSEA   11:1       "Out of Egypt --"
  30.  ISAIAH  11:1       "Branch" used Hebrew word NEHTZER
  31.                      which had been commonly accepted by
  32.                      the religious leaders to be NAZARENE!

  34.                Forget that for a little while
  35.             let's try How the people are to react
  36.            towards Him ... and He to the people...

  38.  ISAIAH   8:14      "Rock of offense" - he is going to alienate the people -
  39.                      PSALM  118:22
  40.  ISAIAH  28:16       "To be the Corner Stone"
  41.  
  42.  ISAIAH  11:1-10     Will be Jew (Branch from Jesse) yet in Verse 10 we see
  43.                      that the Gentiles will seek Him - THIS IS NOT RIGHT?!-NO
  44.                      JEW WOULD COME NEAR A GENTILE.
  45.  
  46.  ISAIAH  25:7      The "veil" on the hearts of Gentiles
  47.                    will be destroyed while a veil of disbelief will form over
  48.                    the hearts
  49.                    of some (not all) Jews!
  50.  
  51.             We are really getting nowhere - FAST!

  53.          Let's try to find HIS ANNOINTING (function)

  56.                       PSALM  22 with 72
  57.                       ISAIAH 53 with 11

  59.  Well  it  looks  as though there might be  TWO  MESSIAHS  -otherwise HOW can
  60.  this apply to ONE MESSIAH?!

  62.  Zechariah   6:12-13   "Priest upon His throne"
  63.  Psalm     110:4       "Priest on the order of Melchizedek"
  64.  Jeremiah   23:5       "A King"
  65.  
  66.  Now, we as the advisors to the King know that ONLY a member of  the tribe of
  67.  Judah can be KING and we know that only  a member  of  the tribe of Levi may
  68.  be a priest!  How  can  a Messiah be from both Levi and Judah?
  69.  
  70.  Let's look at Isaiah 40:5 where HE will be the GLORY OF THE LORD  and in
  71.  ISAIAH 53:1-3 He will be DESPISED AND HAVE  NO BEAUTY!  Then  we have
  72.  Zechariah 11:12 & 13 showing that  a price of 30 pieces of silver will be
  73.  paid for Him - or will it be paid for a potter's field?
  74.  
  75.  This Messiah is getting more and more confusing,  isn't it?  Let's take a
  76.  few more verses:

  78.  Zechariah 13:6 shows that he will be wounded,  while  Psalm 22:16  shows His
  79.  hands and feet pierced - while Psalm 34:20 shows  that he is "keeping His
  80.  bones".  How can one  pierce the  hands  and not break a bone - and why
  81.  would  the  fact that His bones are not broken be so important?
  82.  
  83.  If this be the Messiah,  then why in Psalm 22:1 - 8 does it show Him being
  84.  forsaken by GOD?
  85.  
  86.              NOW LET US COME BACK TO THE PRESENT
  87.  
  88.  I.  The difficulties that they experienced then were due to the fact that
  89.      the "answer" had not been provided,  yet.  The  same is with our
  90.      "difficulties" - if there  is  no answer to each of us.  than we must
  91.      look for answers or await the answer at HIS timing.

  93.                           MATTHEW 2:22-23
  94.  Joseph was about to return to Bethlehem. Humanly speaking -this  prophesy
  95.  hinged  on an odd fact  of  History  - King Herod, during an outrage against
  96.  "those who plotted against him"  and  in a very peevish mood CHANGED his
  97.  will and  put ARCHELAUS,  the  son  he  HATED most  to  rule  INSTEAD  of
  98.  ANTIPAS,  the  eldest.  It was this dread of ARCHELAUS that led  Joseph  to
  99.  resettle in Nazareth.  Here  God  used  the spiteful  wrath  of  a paranoid
  100.  king to bring  prophesy  to fulfillment.

  103.                       MATTHEW 21:42-44
  104.  Here Christ is shown as the CORNER STONE and in MATTHEW  we find how He was
  105.  a "rock of offense" or stumbling block,  as He is today, to those who REFUSE
  106.  to believe on Him.

  108.                         LUKE 4:17-21
  109.  Here we see the Lord reading ISAIAH - yet NOT FINISHING THE READING!  WHY?
  110.  - because  Christ was not ready to announce the  Day  of Judgement - He
  111.  plans to do that  on  His  next visit!

  113.                         MATTHEW 26:15
  114.  Thirty Pieces of Silver paid to Judas. WHY 30 PIECES? Let's look  at Exodus
  115.  21:32 where "if a person's bull should push (kill)  a  manservant the owner
  116.  of the bull was to  pay  30 pieces of silver.  In other words a DEAD SERVANT
  117.  was  worth 30 pieces of silver.  The price paid reflected the contempt the
  118.  leaders had toward Jesus.

  121.               What did Judas do with the money?

  123.                         JOHN 19:31-37
  124.  Here  BOTH  of the thieves crucified with Christ had  their bones broken -
  125.  BUT JESUS DID NOT.  The wounds of the  nails pierced flesh and not bones!
  126.  
  127.  Now,  we should look at the ONLY prophesy that outlined the EXACT day that
  128.  the Messiah would enter Jerusalem.
